Knit and the City

Doesn't the title say it all? I'm a 30 something knitter on the West Coast. Expect to read about my life with the guy, two ex-racing greyhounds and a couple of crazy cats!

My poor guy. He called me this afternoon to ask for a ride. His truck broke down. Good thing is that he was only about 7 blocks from work. I dutifully sped over and rescued him. I'm such a good girlfriend! I also finally got in touch with my mommy. I've been calling her for days and she hasn't returned my call. Yesterday I resorted to calling other family members to ask if they have seen her. Today I finally got a hold of her! My mom's really good at the guilt trip and since I'm of her womb I gave her a very hard time about not calling and all that. Was kinda fun. Turns out she's having a bad week at work also. Hm. My work week is better. I've been noticing that my boss is getting thinner. He's been on a diet and it's really working. He's a very big guy but I noticed that his sweater he wears that's always tight on him is a bit baggy. Also that his pants don't fit him in the rear anymore. Does that mean I was checking out his ass? Yikes! That's a disturbing thought! My Canuckle-heads did it! I'm so glad they beat the Wild! Bert managed to keep his temper sort of under control. Ruutu (?) was a riot! Beaking off to the Wild players! It was hysterical to watch! Bring it home boys! I change my American Idol prediction. Josh is my pick now. He wasn't very good. He does get cutie points in a chunky, southern sort of way. Who knows? LoTech is so cool. I'm at the raglan decreases on the right front. I should be well into the sleeves by the weekend. I could have this finished by Monday! That is if I pay attention and don't f**k up anymore. Note to self-Concentrate! Pooper pic! Tough life at the Greyhound Retirement Home!

Here's a suggestion for folks wanting to get a customer service issue resolved. Do not call the agent who serviced you names. Example: "The short, fat one that hasn't been laid in a long time" It's probably not going to get you anywhere. Especially not what you're looking for. My new favourite quote is "I'm in the business of customer service. I'm not your servant." I guess you can figure out that work was pleasant enough. I did get to come home to this. Makes you realize there's more in life. My Canucks are doing good! They've tied up the game and I do have to get back to it! I hope Bertie's big butt flattens a couple people. It did manage to help the first goal in. Go Bert! American Idol prediction: Trenyce gets gone, Sorry, girlfriend.

4/28/2003

Great day at the Greyt Walk! Perfect weather for walking. Not too hot. Lots of happy greyhounds. Isn't this guy a love? And here's how far I've gotten on my LoTech. Sort of. After I took this picture I realized that I was on the wrong size needles. I had forgotten to switch to the 5mm's after the ribbing. So I'm really not that far along since I had to rip it back. By tonight I should be right back where I was. I will pay better attention in the future! I hope I will. Ripping back totally sucks!

4/27/2003

Ugh. I don't think I'll ever eat again. I swear I'm still full from the lunch at Uncle Nick's! What a spread! Orzo, Olive and Feta Salad, Caesar Salad, Greek Salad, Shredded Something Salad, Roasted Peppers, Tatziki, Hummus, Pita, Baby Spanakopita's, Tomato Meatballs, Asiatic Meatballs, Roasted Lamb, Roasted Lemon Potatoes, Beer, Wine, Baklava, Powdered Sugar Somethings and Easter Eggs! Burp...excuse me. It's off to the Greyt Walk today. It's looking like it might rain but the girls have raincoats. We should be all good. My mom and Shelley are supposed to come out but I haven't received a call from either. I'll call them in a bit. It will be so nice to see everyone. We usually got to a big greyhound function twice a year. There a usually lots of vendors at the US functions and you can stock up on greyhound goodies. Like the sticker for the car, the sign for the door, the dog beds and sweaters. Anything greyhound. It's really neat! I managed to finish the left front of my LoTech! I've started the right front and I can't believe how this sweater flies on the needles. I may have to make a couple more in some other colours. I think I'm going to take pics of my stash. I've had to haul out another storage bin to contain it all. I'm swearing off buying yarn till the fall. Well, maybe some cotton for a couple tank tops or a bikini. We shall see. Greyhound owners of the world unite!

4/26/2003

I'm so proud of my Canucks! For a while there I thought there was going to be trouble. As our sports guy on our local news put it the Wild are like a little dog that won't let go of your pants leg. I believe we kicked that dog. Today me and the guy are going to a lunch with Uncle Nick. He's not our real uncle. He's everyone's uncle. He runs a catering service with a small restaurant attached. I manage to eat there at least twice a week. It's soooo good! Today Nick the Greek is celebrating Greek Orthodox Easter and inviting all his usual customers for lunch. He's roasting a whole lamb on the outdoor spit. My mouth is watering thinking about it! I'm having visions of My Big Fat Greek Lunch! Tomorrow is the Greyt Walk at Spanish Banks. A lot of the local greyhound owners that have adopted dogs from one particular group are getting together for a walk on the beach. There could be as many as 100 greyhounds there! My girlfriend Shelley is coming out as well. I think I may have convinced her that a greyhound is for her. This should be the kicker. I'll post a ton of pics after for those who may be remotely interested. LoTech still rocks on. I didn't get as much done yesterday as I would have liked. The hockey game was too intense. I think I'll go work on it a bit now.

4/25/2003

So here's a little Sesame Street for you. Sing along now 'One of these things is not like the other, one of these things is nearly the same' The ribbing at the top is the back ribbing. I did it knitting normally. The bottom ribbing is the front and I did it twisted! I read in someone's blog that they liked the way the ribbing came out when it was knitted twisted. (I'm not stealing your idea, I'd give you credit if I could remember who and where you are!) I like it too. It's so much more even and compact. You just have to remember to switch back to 'proper' knitting techniques when the ribbing is finito. I'm about 4 inches into the left front and hope to have it done by Sunday. The left front that is, not the entire sweater. Survivor Update. I'm sorry...but the Boobsie Twins are just gross. I'm so glad Rob deep-sixed that whole alliance. And Jenna getting all upset that she spent all her money on chocolate and sweets and didn't save her cash for a letter from home! Christy, I would have told Jeff that there was NO WAY anyone else should be able to buy a letter. No one offered to pool their money and buy food and share! How selfish are these people?! Go Christy! T.G.I.F. Today the sun came out and reminded me that I do love my job. My boss was away today. I (and the company) am planning to take over for him when he retires. So today I decided that since he wasn't there that I should get to take advantage of some of his '-isms'. You know, the things that he does and gets away with? I tell you it's gonna be sweet! When I hire an assistant and get to not answer the phone! It rang off the hook today. And if the caller couldn't get anyone on his line, they'd call my line immediately after. And get a busy signal, and then call his line again. I did manage to get the 'boys' to wash my car though. That was the only 'ism' I got away with today. Go Canucks Go! I stopped at the liquor store on my way home from work. I've never seen it so packed! The guy in front of me bought $300 in hard alcohol and informed everyone in line that the keg was already at the house and the stripper would be performing between the 2nd and 3rd period. Yep, he said stripper. And then told me I could come over if I wanted. Aawwwww. Thanks. Not likely.

4/24/2003

The guy had the night off last night so we rented a movie. Hey, look, this one looks good! Door to Door. Starring William H. Macy as a door to door salesman with cerebral (?) palsy. Two thumbs up. Yeah it was great. At making us cry! I swear that at least 5 times in that video we were swapping tissues. I did really enjoy it but get out your hankies! A couple times I was trying to keep it together but then I'd hear a giant sniffle from the guy. Sigh, pass the tissue. Bill Macy was excellent! I'll admit I watch American Idol. About time they got rid of the goat-girl. She kept bleating. Ma-a-a-a-a. I do admire her for keeping it together and a brave smile on her face. If it was me I'da been bawling. Some voice lessons and a vacation from the yodeling championships she could do very well. Oh, by the way, Go Roooben! Survivor Night! Yipee. I've been instructed to watch by the girls at work so that we can have something to talk about tomorrow. Yeah, right. Like I need a reason. LoTech makes me happy. I think it's turning out so well. I feel like I'm still a beginner sometimes, most of the time but this makes me happy that I can actually get something to look the way it does in the picture. I'll post some update pics tomorrow if I can borrow the digicam from work. If I can? Hmph. When! That's the word! Would you drop something please?

4/23/2003

Okay, okay, okay. I realize the photo of the guys shirt must make some people think I live with a whale! Beluga, maybe...but no. He's just a large guy. All 6'4" and 200+ Lbs. We're not sure how much over 200 as we don't own a scale. Did you see that hockey game!? Didn't my boys do all I asked them to? Did you see my Bertie's big butt knock guys down left, right and center? (Best James Brown here) Waaaah! Shake ya ass! I was so proud! Very proud that there wasn't a riot. God...I hope they keep winning! LoTech rocks on. I learned that K2tog isn't as simple as it seems. I was merrily knitting along only to realize that there was some stranding issues happening on the left side decreases. I consulted my bible (The Reader's Digest Complete Book of Knitting) and figured out that I should insert the right hand needle through the front of the 2 stitches from the left side. Not just simply knit the stitches together through the back. Thought again for a nanosecond about ripping back the six rows but decided that since the wonky stitches are in my armpit I'm fairly sure no one will know about them except me. And now you. Woke again early this morning to find this. I don't call her a mom-glommer for nothing. But now it's going a little Twilight Zone.

4/22/2003

Taa Daa! Isn't it a riot? It was a nice quiet day at work today. No hamsters melting down. There are still a few missing hamsters. I still believe there were never hamsters to begin with for some. Snicker, snicker. Got another 5 or so inches done on my LoTech. I'm almost at the raglan decreases! I'm planning on working on it tonight but it's Game 7 for my Vancouver Canucks. I'm afraid that if someone hurts my Bert I may pull all the stitches off the needle! I found out today that the city considers me a 'dog owner/harbourer/possessor'. Well, isn't that quite a title? I wonder if I can work that in on my business card? I hear hockey...Go Canucks Go!!!!

4/21/2003

Woo Hoo! I'm home early today! It was so slow that I was allowed to go at noon. Thank the stars above, because someone's hamster (remember? the one that runs the wheel in each and every one of our heads?) totally melted down at 7 am! In my whole career I have never run into someone so irrationally angry and vehement that I felt sick to my stomach and my hands were shaking. And he wasn't yelling at me! I am so proud of my staff member who kept her cool even though I know she was ready to leap across the counter and take him out. Do you ever feel someone's aura before they get there? Well buddy, here's some news, yours is black. Ahhhh...customer service. Guess what I did? I started a new project while the other one wasn't finished! Old dogs can learn new tricks! This is Bonne's pattern that I got on eBay with the cool variegated yarn. It's a burgundy/purple/tan/cream combo that looks way better than the photo. I can't believe I started it! I also managed to finish both (yep, that's two!) of the guy's shirts this weekend. Photos tomorrow! Stay tuned! Now it's time for a big ol' drink...without a smoke because I quit yesterday. Yipee for day two!

4/20/2003

Days like these I curse my mother for giving me this. He can be such a big, fat pain! So far today he's managed to purr loud enough to wake me up, bite my hair, lick my nose, slide across the desk knocking everything off, knock over the garbage can AND caused me to pull a muscle in my back/shoulder area trying to right the garbage can without getting out of my chair. But he is sooooo cute. Oh, oh, oh...I did that link all by myself. Let's take a moment... I finished one of the guy's shirts. And all I have to do is put buttons and buttonholes on the other. Very productive. Today I must do laundry, as well as all those other things that make a house run sorta smoothly. Happy Easter to everyone!

4/19/2003

As you can see I still haven't figured out how to do anything. I have been working on other things. So, I'm trying to convince myself not to feel guilty. By the way, who reads this? I have no way to know. I don't know how to make a tag. When I do figure it out it will be so cool! I woke up this morning to find Sarah right next to me with her head on the pillow. Somewhere in the middle of the night she wormed her way in between me and the guy. Even now she's still in there spoonin' the guy! Should I be jealous? These pets of mine make me laugh all the time! I'm making the guy a couple of shirts. He likes a short sleeved, oversized, collared shirt with a pocket for work. He likes them in black. What musician doesn't wear black? I guess then he knows it all matches! I made him a pair of shirts last year out of fabric he picked at the store. They are polyester and now he complains they're too hot and make him all sweaty. So, I picked up some cotton shirting from my favourite East Indian merchant. $2.50 a yard! Mom bought him some silk last Christmas to make him a shirt but never got around to sewing it. She gave him a box of fabric with some buttons as his gift. It was funny. I still have to cut that fabric out. I also found a crazy cotton print that got musical notes all over it and bars of music running along both selvages. Add a touch of gold glitter and you've got a fine shirt! The guy is very hesitant about it. I think he may be frightened. He keeps telling me about his reputation and that this shirt may ruin it. Ha-ha-ha Pictures on Monday. No knitting as there's a ton of sewing happening. But while I was in my sewing studio I ran into my super find of the century. At work there's always stuff getting left behind in rental cars and trucks. We usually call and let them know they've forgotten something. If they don't pick it up we do a twice yearly trip to the Sally Ann and donate all the stuff. There's a lot of stuff! I took one of the 'forgottens' home. It was 6 giant bags of wool that had been processed to the roving stage. I truly believe there's got to be over 150 lbs of wool. Now I have to get it over to the Saltspring Island Mill to have it spun out. I will never go through all that wool but what a find!

4/17/2003

I fully believe that some people suffer from hamster burnout. You know, when the hamster that runs on the wheel that turns inside their heads goes feets up? It must be something to do with the long weekend, then again maybe there never was a hamster on board to begin with. I have so much to do this weekend. Mom wants me to come out and visit on Saturday. It's an hour's drive. Then I'm tired when I get there. I told her I'd have to see because I have a ton of yardwork to do. As well as all the other things I have planned. The boss cancelled my trip to Toronto! Yeah! I've been going a freaky about SARS and not wanting to go. He was patient and understanding. AND he said I could tint the windows on my work car. He's the best. Now if I could only get a raise... Knitting front. Nothing. Except frogging a sweater I had attempted to crochet for the guy. Note to all other knitters, I feel crochet isn't a manly enough stitch. I'll take lots of pics this weekend and start something new. I promise! And I will not smoke. Much.

4/16/2003

Shhhhh...work break. I need a break from the office. It's a little mental here today. Not busy...but mental. As in challenging. It seems to be for some others that are working here. You know, those folks who are like a six pack without the plastic thingy that holds it all together? Yeah. I just shake my head and move on. Another day, another inch. Black Acres is more like the Black Plague. Yuck. But it's a long weekend this weekend and I'm going to dedicate substantial time to it. And to some sewing, and to some pruning, and to some gardening, and to some spring cleaning. Ahhh...looks like they'll be no rest for me. I'm so happy Bonne's mom is home. I know it must be such a strain All my best wishes are going her way. I do want to know what the heck kind of dog is "El Bebe Cujito"?

4/15/2003

I think I need HTML for Dummies. I have no idea how to do comments. Or links. Or tags. All I've figured out how to do so far is upload pictures and I can't figure out how to put them in a folder on my ftp page. Or can I figure out how to move the archives into the archive folder. Basically, I suck. Or blow. Depending on how you look at it or who you ask. Ha! That's either a joke or the truth. I managed another inch on Black Acres. After I had to rip back a row and a half because I started knitting in the wrong pattern AGAIN! I'm beginning to hate this sweater. I probably should take a break and do something else. I'm trying to quit smoking. Yeah, yeah...I know. I should quit. I said I'm trying. If you saw me you would never guess I was one. I don't smoke out in public. Or at work. I'm a home smoker. All alone with the blinds drawn. I started the actual give up plan for Lent. Planning on being ready to kick the habit by Easter. Holy s**t! Easter's on Sunday! I may be very cranky the next few weeks. But it's mind over matter right? Wish me willpower. Friday night Sex and the City won't be the same without a smoke. I hope Carrie quits this season. I hear the guy calling Sarah a 'delinquent'. She must have snuck something off the counter. Look at her...Awwww...How could you stay mad at that?

4/14/2003

Ahhh... The infamous Black Acres Here's a sample of the stitch switch And here's what happens when you make Bonne's Bucket-o-Chic in Eyelash. I'm trying to put on my best Russian Spy Look. All I look like is a dork who needs a little make up. Ha Ha Ha. Not to shy to put it up here though, am I?

I love my job. I hate being the person that lives the closest to my office. I'm first on the call list for the alarm company. The guy is always still up and answers the phone. He always thinks somebody has been in an accident. So last night, or early this morning we had to dress in 30 seconds and meet the police at the office. Lucky for us it was a false alarm. I think the mouse may have set off the motion sensor. Last time the door was smashed in and all our monitors were ripped off. And we were there for 4 hours in the middle of the night. Yuck. I think we're racking up enough brownie points for a free trip somewhere. This is the 4th alarm in as many months. I looked at my knitting in the storage box all weekend and only touched once to take pictures of it. I'll upload those files later. I have to Photoshop the photos a bit so you can see them clearly. The Spa was fantastic! I had a facial and a pedicure. I had planned on wearing some capris and sexy sandals to the salon so I could show off my toes but the weather was not cooperating. It was pouring all day! I had worn boots and realized after the last coat of fantastic red polish it may have been a good idea to bring the sandals. I noticed the had some neat slides in the lobby of the spa. $45 dollars later my pedicure was safe and sound in my Sensi slides. Jelly shoes for grown ups. The bumps on the shoes make your soles dimpled like a golf ball! Pretty neat stuff. Congrats to Mike Weir on the Masters! You make all Canadians proud.

4/13/2003

Thank goodness everything is okay with Bonne's mom. See her at www.chicknits.com/rambles.shtml Since I'm on the Mac the link button doesn't appear. I guess I could figure out how to do a link without it. I haven't had coffee yet. I could be setting myself up for failure. Today I will try to figure out how to set up a comments thingy and a button bar. As well as a 100 things. Later though. It's Spa Day with the Girls! All the girls from the office were given a gift certificate for a procedure at the day spa. So this afternoon we're having it done. For me it's a facial and a pedicure. Happy, happy, joy, joy. Still couldn't motivate myself to work on Black Acres. I did pick it up and take a couple photos. I'll post those tomorrow. Weekends for me are decompression time. I watch way to much TV and vegetate. Speaking of TV. Was that one of the lamest Trading Spaces ever? The only thing that saved it for me was Ty. He's so cute. I must go find coffee and finish the laundry and round up something to eat and feed the dogs and take a shower and and and

4/12/2003

It's time to meet the family. Here are my fur kids. Loves of my life. Buddy, Budlet, Buds, Buddy Girl, Baby Bud, Bitchy Buddy She's got a lot of names but she's been with me 7 years this summer. Monk, Thelonious Monkey, Monkey Butt, Monkey The newest addition. A gift from my mom. A giant pain in a cute kitten way. Sarah, Pooper, Sarahpoopanara, Love Puppy Retired 2 years. Love at first sight for the guy. She's all dog. And adorable. Ella, Ellafanella, Ella Poop, Ellakins Retired 3 years. She's got to be a reincarnated person. She is a total love with so much expression. Aren't they cute. I think so. I didn't pick up a stitch last night. Feeling slightly guilty. Spent the evening with the TV. Flipping between TLC's 'Love U' and A&E's 'Napoleon' Felt sorry for the guy who was a doormat and realized again the John Malkovich is an amazing actor.

4/11/2003

I got my lottery ticket. I'm ready. Lottery List 1) Scream and jump up and down 2)Leave town for awhile 3)Get out of debt 4)Buy house, car and all the stuff to go in it. 5)Buy lot next door and level it so the dogs can have their own yard. 6)Buy a few rental properties so I have income when I run out of money. Survivor recap-I figured it out. You can't be bossy or think you hold all the cards. Even though a lot is owed to creative editing, there has to be a shred of the real experience. Could Butch and Christy be the dark horses? Managed to get another inch of Black Acres done. I finished off the pocket edging and then realized why the pattern says to do it later. Very hard to knit. I managed and then realized when I got to the stitch pattern change that I had forgotten to decrease on the last pattern change. Meaning that, whoopee for me, I didn't have to increase. Granted I thought for a nanosecond about ripping out the 10 inches I had already done and redoing it. But I looked at it again. I can see where I went wrong but I don't think the guy will. I know he won't. It'll just be a little larger at the waist at the front. We could all use a little dinner room, right? I say that while I suffer in a pair of Levi's that are pinching me at the waist as I write this. Must sit up straighter at the computer. Do not slouch. I've been slouching for years! How do I break that habit? Good thing is that it's Friday! No getting up early tomorrow! Spa day with the 'goils' on Sunday! Looking very forward to my pedicure and facial. Now for a glass of wine. Let the weekend begin!

4/10/2003

Another day, another inch. Sigh. I got to the part on the front of Black Acres where I had to attach the front pocket. It went surprisingly well. I think I'll finish off the edge of the pocket now and get it out of the way rather than later as the pattern calls for. I must start another project this weekend. I'm the type of person that likes to finish something before I start something new. It's tough for me to have a couple things on the go at once. I'm going to try to break the habit. The Super 7 lotto is up to 30 million this weekend. I think my boss would understand if I decided not to work anymore. When he hired me back he asked about me leaving again. I made it clear I was here to stay, unless I won the lottery. He said he understood. I hope my numbers hit! Survivor night! I admit. I've been hooked since the first one. It's the only reality TV I allow myself. Almost. I have been sucked into some others briefly. I think it's like watching a car crash. You're thinking "Whoa, this is so crazy!" I'm pulling for one of the girls to win. Not the Boobie Twins but Deena or Christy. Go girls! I can't wait for Rob to get booted, even though he's the comic relief, he's just a sad, sad guy. Enough on that! I post these from work because it's a PC and that seems to work best with this format. Eventually I'll try to do something else with it but I can't upgrade it seems. How can you tell I'm over 30 and not that computer motivated or oriented?

4/09/2003

Well...I moved all the entries off the other blogger site. Since there is no way that it's going to upload to my personal webspace, I'll just stay on this page and maybe upgrade to the Pro edition. Does anyone else have these problems? Things here at work are slowing down. This is the 2 or 3 week lull that happens in the spring. When the series all wrap up and just before the features go to camera. I work for a major car and truck rental company here in Vancouver and we specialize in vehicles for film production and special events. The problem when this happens is there's no room to store all those trucks! The parking lot is jammed and I think we're taking up any available parking on the street within 1/2 a block! We are not popular with the neighbours. At least this week. It only happens once or twice a year. I hope they forgive us. Still working on Black Acres. Managed an inch or so. I'll never be as proficient as Wendy but I do aspire. I'm looking to start on my next project. I have 20 balls of Tibet yarn and I have no idea what to do with it. Well I have some idea. I think I may make a cardigan. It's in my favourite colour. Black! But I notice that lately I've been buying outside my comfort zone. Venturing into the colours. My mom bought me a Philosipher's Wool Faire Isle kit. And it's in lovely colours of purple and sage green. She also bought me the Killim kit last year. She's a fabulous mommy! Problem is that I'm afraid to start them. What if I mess it up? I'd rather f**k up some crappy acrylic that I bought rather than that beautiful wool. It looks like my luch hour is over. Time to go back to the slaving away. I

[4/8/2003 1:18:24 PM | Ande V] Still not going to the homepage. My little sister called last night. She wasn't much help. Helpful at cursing the cable company. You can see her over here. She's got the homepage thing happening! I wouldn't have picked green but she likes it and that's all that matters. I picked up the latest FCEK. Boring. There's only one or two things I like in it. I do like a couple of the kids sweaters. That would be beneficial if I had kids. Therefore the friends kids may score! By the way I look nothing like my sister. I look like this. I do have to run and deliver a car. Seeing as how I'm at work I should be working.

[4/7/2003 10:56:12 AM | Ande V] Still can't get anything to load to the homepage. I tried to do a test load using composer and it wouldn't go either. I also tried to post using Fetch but that was refused also. The cable company still denies any problem. Hm. Still working on the acres of black. Eventually I hope it turns out to be this I did manage to pull some yarn out of the stash for the next project. I still haven't started it yet. I took a break this weekend and did crochet up a dishcloth and a cat toy. It was just the break I needed. Last weekend, when I went to get my hair done, I stopped in at the Women In Need Mission Store. I dug around the back and found a couple of old 1960's Beehive pattern books at 10 cents each! As well I found 10 skeins of acrylic/mohair yarn in a pearl grey and 9 skeins of the same type of yarn in a nice beige/camel colour. $1 a skein. Life is good!

[4/5/2003 11:15:00 AM | Ande V] I can't believe I still can't get this to go to my homepage. I have something else I'll try again today. My little sister is supposed to call. She's the computer whiz in the family. Only problem is that when you ask her for computer help she talks to you like you're stupid. And when she asks you to push some computer lingo button and you don't get to it fast enough for her...she'll let out a GIANT sigh and tell you to get out of the way. Don't get me wrong, I love her, but ocassionally I would like to kick her in the ass. I only got about an inch done on the guys hooded sweater. I think the monotony of acres of black are getting to me. I do swear the next boyfriend is gonna be a shrimp! Teeny tiny. Maybe Vern Troyer. He's awful cute. Off to try to get this to work! TTFN

[4/4/2003 8:43:59 AM | Ande V] Still not working. Hm. I did post a message to Blogger control but since I don't pay for this service I'm sure there's no help coming from there. I notice that Bonne has a nice new pattern up on her blog. Summer is on it's way! I'll have to start my Sitcom Chic from Knitty. I went up to Michaels and picked up the Lion Brand Cotton-Ease that the pattern calls for but they had it on sale and were almost sold out of every colour. But I got my favourite colour (besides black) and it's ORANGE! I'm tellin' ya, I could direct traffic in this sweater when I'm done and have no fear of getting run over. The guy was apalled at the colour. I guess I won't wear it out with him. Then again, I might, just for fun!

[4/3/2003 7:13:04 PM | Ande V] arrrghhhh!

Since I can't get this to load to my webspace I'll just cut and paste my previous entries here and then I'll just use this. Until I get to those night classes on HTML and FTP publishing.

Now that we're onto greater things. Such as the sucessful set up of this blog. I feel I should celebrate. I may start a new knitting project. Currently I'm working on a hooded sweater for the guy. All 6'4" and gorilla arms. I had to rip out 4 inches of the stupid thing yesterday because I finally realized I was stitching the wrong pattern. Maybe it's the operator who's stupid. Then again... Other thing of note. Monk-ey the 9 month old kitten has found a new addiction. He found a bag of catnip and proceeded to spread it all over the carpet in the office. How can you get mad at him when he's so cute? And stoned. So stoned he would never understand. Maybe it's time for an intervention.

Well, I caved. After 4 days of trying to get Blogger to post to my own web space I finally gave up. I still may try to move it over. My support for my net connection is no help at all. Granted they have been very polite this time. Seems that me and the upload never get along. Testing
